Why this study?
The Lord is having me write out a study dedicated to: Father (s), Husbands and Men; so all this month is dedicated to this topic. The main theme concentrates specifically on the male role and the impact of his role and importance in his family’s lives, his sphere of influence, and in society as a whole. This is something that I’m very excited about and will be sharing what I’ve learned and am learning with you.
The more we look at these words and their meaning; you will begin to see, that there is value and honor that is attached; and where he gets his significance from and why it is important.
ORIGIN of the term “Father”.
This word and its meaning is very important to Our Heavenly FATHER.
Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
You will see this just by looking up the very first number in Hebrew #1 which is ” ‘âb” also “awb”; this is the same word used for FATHER. The word appears around 627 times in the Old Testament and 352 times in the New Testament.
What is fascinating is that, both in the old testament and also in the new; the beginning and the origin of the term “father“ started with OUR Heavenly FATHER.
Then when you look up the very first number in Greek #1 it is “al’-fah”; which is Alpha.
Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
I believe that as we learn more interesting facts and study His Word out we will begin to see just how important and relevant the word Father is; and keeping all these things in mind while we explore and expound his meaning and just how important his role is. Much Love Carol Helmick
