Hello Mike and Carol, I just want to tell you about my (experience) stepping out in faith concerning speaking in tongues.
Experience
After watching the teachings with Mike, and having watched in the past also a teaching by Derek Prince, I’ve been encouraged to step out. So on Saturday afternoon, I made my first attempt. The first few minutes were a bit awkward, but then a “language” flowed out more easily and I just went with it. I was wondering if I was supposed to feel anything special to validate the experience because it all felt quite ordinary.
Then that night, I woke up at 1am to use the bathroom and I decided to try it again. So, I sat up in bed and started speaking it again. I guess it was for about five or ten minutes. Then I decided “that’s enough” and turned my head while at the same time opening my eyes in order to slide back into bed. This is the weird thing. Whereas I felt nothing special while praying, I saw very clearly for a fraction of a second a very bright white orb, about the size of an orange, dip down then disappear. It was very clear even though I saw it very briefly.
Now, even though I have experienced God’s presence in different ways in the past, this shocked me. I prayed to make sure that it wasn’t anything demonic and have been wondering about it ever since.
It has to have been connected to the praying in tongues surely, as I have never seen an orb before. What do you guys think
